Privacy

No data collected. Ever. QuietWeb has no account, no cloud and no tracking. Everything stays on your computer (and, later, on your phone): local, private, yours.

What QuietWeb keeps, and where

Only on your own device, never sent to us or anyone else:

Websites you allow

The websites on your list work as they do in any browser: they can remember logins and settings in cookies on your device. QuietWeb tells the browser engine to block cookies from other sites (third-party cookies, used to follow people across the web). Parents can clear all cookies and website data in QuietWeb's settings. What those websites do is covered by their own privacy policies.

Search

If the search bar is switched on, what a child types there is sent to DuckDuckGo to find results, as with any search engine. DuckDuckGo doesn't track or profile people who search. QuietWeb asks for strict safe search and text-only results, and keeps nothing of the search itself. Parents can switch the search bar off.

Updates

Now and then QuietWeb asks downloads.quietweb.io whether a newer version exists. This is a plain request for a small file, like opening any web page. It carries nothing about you, your list or your use of the app.

This website

quietweb.io uses no cookies, no analytics and no trackers. Like every website, it is delivered by a hosting service (Cloudflare), which handles the technical connection and keeps short-term technical logs for security; we do not use them to identify or follow visitors.

Children

QuietWeb is made for families and children. Because it collects no personal data at all, there is nothing about your child for us to store, share or sell.
